Terms of service

1. Seller

This website is operated by Galet, an online brand selling handpans and accessories. Email: contact@galethandpan.com. Phone: +49 1521 7113143.

2. Scope

These general terms and conditions of sale apply to all orders placed on the website by consumers living in Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France or Germany. By placing an order, you accept the terms in force on the day of your order.

3. Products

The essential characteristics of the products (dimensions, material, scale, number of notes, tuning, accessories included) are shown on each product page. Lifestyle photos are not contractual. Slight differences in the appearance or shade of the surface compared with the photos are possible.

4. Prices

Prices are shown in Swiss francs for Switzerland, in pounds sterling for the United Kingdom and in euros for France and Germany. They include any import duties and taxes. Any delivery costs are shown before you confirm your order.

5. Order

You choose the product and its options, check the order summary, then confirm the order by paying. A confirmation email is then sent to you. We may refuse an order for a legitimate reason (for example an incomplete delivery address); you are then refunded in full.

6. Payment

Payment is made online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, on a secure payment platform. The order is processed once payment has been confirmed.

7. Delivery

The delivery time is shown on the product page and confirmed in the order confirmation. Delivery is made by tracked parcel to the address given when ordering. In the event of a delay, you may ask us to deliver within a reasonable additional period and, failing delivery within that period, terminate the contract in accordance with the applicable law.

On delivery, check the condition of the parcel and the product, then let us know as soon as possible if there is any damage, ideally within 48 hours, with photos.

8. Transfer of risk

The risk of loss or damage passes to you when you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, take physical possession of the product.

9. 30-day return right

Whatever the delivery country, you have 30 days from receipt of the product to return it without giving any reason. In Switzerland, this right is a commercial commitment by Galet; in the European Union and the United Kingdom, it includes the 14-day statutory withdrawal period and extends it to 30 days. You must inform us before the end of the period, online (“Withdraw from contract here” link at the bottom of every page) or by email, then send the product back within 14 days. Return costs are paid by you (usually 40 to 120 CHF, € or £ depending on the country); if we arrange the collection, they are deducted from the refund. The product must be returned complete, without dents, scratches or rust; any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to try it is deducted from the refund. This right does not apply to products made to your specifications or clearly personalised. Full details and the form are in our return and refund policy.

10. Legal guarantees

France: you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) for two years from delivery of the goods, during which you only need to establish the existence of the lack of conformity. You can obtain repair or replacement of the goods or, failing that, a price reduction or termination of the contract. You also benefit from the guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code).

Switzerland: you benefit from the warranty for defects provided by the Swiss Code of Obligations (articles 197 et seq.), for two years from delivery.

Any commercial guarantee is in addition to these legal guarantees and does not limit them.

11. Liability

The product must be used and cared for in accordance with the advice provided (played with the fingers, stored dry, protective oil). We are not liable for damage resulting from a knock, a fall, lack of care or improper use. Nothing in these terms limits our liability in the event of gross negligence or personal injury.

12. Personal data

The processing of your personal data is described in our privacy policy.

13. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swiss law. If you are a consumer living in France or another member state of the European Union, you also benefit from the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence and may bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence. In the event of a dispute, please contact us first at contact@galethandpan.com: we will look for an amicable solution.
